Permanent Way Institution (PWI)

RIFA Rail Industry Fire Association
RIFA was launched in 1996 following the privatisation of British Rail in 1995. The launch took place at the Fire Protection Association headquarters at Boreham Wood, Hertfordshire.
Rail Industry First Aid Association
Established 1997 Rifaa Ltd has partnership arrangements with many organisations to provide cost effective First Aid, Fire, Manual Handling, IOSH Safety and other Health and Safety training.
The American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association
he American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) was formed on October 1, 1997, as the result of a merger of three engineering support associations, namely the American Railway Bridge and Building Association, the American Railway Engineering Association and the Roadmaster's and Maintenance of Way Association, along with functions of the Communications and Signal Division of the Association of American Railroads.
The Institution of Railway Operators
The Institution is the UK rail industry’s custodian of best practice in operational management, and thereby provides a focus for raising standards and enhancing the professional standing of those directly involved in the safe and reliable operation of railways.
