  This is something of a busmans holiday suggestion, but I got several interested parties from another professional railwayman's forum, so  I thought you ought to know. You've also got my target charity running all over your site, so that's another reason to at least have a look at what we are up to.
  We are planning a mad dash round the edge of the Indian railway network in February 2011 for 2 weeks. To travel in the best class on offer all the way round, plus the 4 nights you get motionless, and food, will cost less than the price of your air ticket to Mumbai, from whence we start and finish.
  We've got somewhere between about 15 and 50 so far who are up for this. There are no agents or tour operators involved, it's a kind of social networking experiment in some ways. Few of us will have met until we convene on the platform at Mumbai central on 19th feb next year. I've got at least one definite train driver, and 2 others who are may be. Not that many hard core trainspotters as it happens, which is really odd. Most people are India nuts who also like doing train trips, but dont know jack when it comes to how any of the mechancial stuff works. We do though have a lot of people who know all about ticketing, scheduling, make-ups of rakes and all that stuff, we just wouldnt know a steam train from a deisel (almost).
