Youngsters enjoy free steam trips for Easter

Saturday, April 03, 2010, 09:20

WELL CHUFFED: Children are enjoying a free trip on a steam train at Churnet Valley Railway.

The attraction is operating "Eggspress" trains on all five days of the Bank Holiday weekend.

And tomorrow and Bank Holiday Monday, there will be an Easter egg hunt, egg painting, hunt the rabbit and children's activities.

The offer allows one child to travel free with each full fare-paying adult.

There will be 10 round trips tomorrow and Monday from Cheddleton and Kingsley and Froghall Stations. No booking is required.

Commercial manager Margaret Mountford said: "Our picturesque heritage railway runs through the Staffordshire's Little Switzerland. Our railway shares the valley floor with the Caldon Canal and the River Churnet, so it makes a splendid day out for all the family by providing a delightful return steam train journey."
