Steam Museum Swindon celebrates 175 years of railway


All puffed up about the new season at Steam


RAILWAY enthusiasts can look forward to a year filled with events at the Steam museum to celebrate the 175th anniversary of the railway.

Some of the highlights include a visit from the BBC's Antiques Roadshow on April 22, Thomas the Tank engines 65th birthday at the Steam on May 22 and 23 and pop impresario Pete Waterman, with a variety of guest speakers will host the GWR 175 gala dinner on August 21.

The GWR was initially founded on August 31, 1835.
