Train derailment, signal failure and crash on A13 cause rush hour travel misery Published: 21 January 2015  Cancellations caused by a derailed train capped off a morning of travel misery for commuters across London today.

Heathrow Express and Heathrow Connect services between the airport and London were cancelled after a train came off the track at the depot.

A spokesman said the disruption was caused when "one wheel set" of a Heathrow Express train "came off the rails at low speed" as it entered a depot in Ealing shortly after 3am.

Services began running again shortly after 11am. “We are very sorry to everyone affected by today’s incident," the spokesman added.

Thousands of other rail passengers faced disruption because of signal failure which led to huge delays on some of the busiest routes in the country.
