N.C. ports board: Class I rail is critical to economic development
CSX and Norfolk Southern are "critical" partners in North Carolina's economic development, according to the N.C. State Ports Authority. "There's not a week that goes by that we're not talking to CSX or Norfolk Southern," said Tony Tata, secretary of the N.C. Department of Transportation and a ports board member. EIA: Weekly capacity of U.S. refineries hits record level

Daily processing capacity of U.S. refineries for the weeks ending July 11 and July 18 reached 16.8 million barrels of crude oil, the highest weekly capacity on record since 1990, driven by increased inputs in the Midwest and Gulf Coast, according to the Energy Information Administration. "There's more capacity and higher utilization rates. They are among the reasons we're seeing record processing of crude oil," said Jonathan Cogan, spokesman for the agency. USA Today (7/24)
