Corporate spending expected to jump in 2014
Companies are likely to increase spending this year as business conditions continue to improve and economic risks mitigate. New orders of nondefense capital goods rose 4.1% in November. Another measure of business spending that includes buildings and software grew 4.8% in the third quarter of 2013. And as consumer spending grows, companies will need to replace aging equipment to meet consumer demand. The Wall Street Journal (tiered subscription model) (1/12)
