BNSF hosts hazmat training session in Wash.
BNSF recently provided training for emergency responders in Pasco, Wash., to learn about important measures to take during hazardous-materials incidents. Although accidents are rare, BNSF still puts safety as a top priority, says Gus Melonas, BNSF regional director of public affairs. "Ninety-nine percent of all hazmat moved in the 28 states and two Canadian provinces we cover makes it to its destination incident-free," Melonas notes. "We want to continue to ensure the movement of these materials stays safe." Tri-City Herald (Kennewick, Pasco and Richland, Wash.) (8/13)
