Canadian Pacific resumes after Canada passes back-to-work bill

CP service resumes after Canada passes back-to-work bill      1st June 2012
Canadian Pacific resumed operations this morning, following Canadian lawmakers' passage of a bill that ordered striking employees back to work. The Class I and the union now face binding arbitration. Full capacity of freight rail operations will be back to normal two days after trains start moving, according to CP spokesman Ed Greenberg. The strike dealt a considerable economic blow and "even when the trains do start rolling it will take weeks for the backlog to clear," said Labor Minister Lisa Raitt.
